BODY OF EVIDENCE

In 2020 Dit&Dat was approached by the Distell Group (South Africa) to help develop concept and design for their Body of Evidence campaign.

BODY OF EVIDENCE – A GBV+F MOVEMENT was a way to address the other pandemic in South Africa at the time. Gender-based violence against women. (GBV+F). The numbers speak for themselves. The evidence exists. Bodies lie broken and breathless and the perpetrators are usually known and have to be stopped. The arts were used as a communications platform for this concept. The Body of Evidence movement was created to shock South Africans into realising the magnitude and violent nature of GBV+F. South African artists became the authentic voices that initiated the conversations. Driven primarily by sharing content on social media platforms. 22 Artists (dancers, actors & influencers) participated.
